PLYMESH

PLYMESH is a porous woven wire laminate that specializes in fluidization. It is comprised of several individual woven wire layers that are bonded together using a unique sintering process.

In addition to this sintering process, a specialized calendering process is applied. It works to flatten the knuckles created at each wire interaction, creating an extremely smooth and lustrous finish.

Despite the heavy fabrication used to construct PLYMESH panels, the geometric integrity of each woven wire layer remains intact. This means there are no blind holes.

To provide peak customization, PLYMESH panels can be constructed from square mesh, MINIMESH® filter cloth, or a combination of both. This allows PLYMESH to deliver a defined pore size range of 5 to 500 micrometers, depending on the specifications of each woven wire layer.

This puts the flow rate allotted by the panel in your hands. You can also control the form in which your PLYMESH arrives, whether it be panels or shaped parts such as candles, cylinders, cones, or, more commonly, aeration pads.

The standard size of Plymesh sheets is 500 x 1,000 mm. That said, special sizes can be made available upon request.

What Is PLYMESH?

Aeration pads made from PLYMESH wire mesh laminate effortlessly loosen, convey, and homogenize powdery material.

Applications

Plymesh aeration pads are a highly efficient discharging aid in silos and air-conveying troughs, especially in high-temperature environments. It is a proven separating element between air and the material to be conveyed.

Other applications are:

  • flow regulator in water pipes
  • drinking water filtration
  • sound attenuation for air outlets
  • filter inserts for air-aspirating holes
  • water separators for fuel
  • hydraulic filtration (especially for aviation and aerospace)

Plymesh Aeration Pads

Plymesh aeration pads are used to fluidize and optimize the flow rate of powdered and pulverized products in silos and bunkers. Pulverized goods stored in silos have to be easily extracted for further processing.

However, the powdered material often densifies during storage and becomes solid. Therefore, it is no longer possible to rely on gravity alone for extraction.

To ensure efficient flow, Plymesh aeration pads are used to evenly distribute air into the storage unit, combating funneling, ratholing, and bridging. Plymesh aeration pads and candles can easily be installed, even in silos already in operation.
