Woven wire mesh is an important element in supporting the safety guideline that manufacturers within the electrical and gas detection industry must follow. Flame and spark arresters, for example, are a popular application for woven wire mesh as its resistance to heat and its durability allows it to successfully prevent ignited particles from entering flammable surroundings. These filter qualities also allow wire mesh to protect the sensor and other elements of smoke detectors from dust and other debris from hindering the effectiveness of the detector.
