What is Screen Printing?

Precisely defined cloth thickness, very high mesh precision and tight tolerances along with precisely specified thickness of the ink deposit provide excellent printing results with W.S. Tyler Metal Mesh. The stress when tensioning and printing with W.S. Tyler is within the lower elasticity range, meaning that screen printing stencils have a very long service life when handled with care.

W.S. Tyler Metal Mesh for the Electronic Industry

Ever smaller electronic devices require ever smaller printed circuits and printed circuit boards. Cutting edge screen printing processes use highly accurate, stable screen printing cloth made of metal mesh. W.S. Tyler metal mesh has a high register accuracy, can be adapted to the required ink deposit for the specific application and make possible optimum ink flow, ensuring an even color gradient and a precisely definable thickness of the ink deposit.

Example applications:

  • PCBs - single- and double-sided printed circuit boards
  • FPC - flexible single- and double-sides FPC conductor paths
  • Thick film circuits
  • LTCC circuits – Low Temperature Cofired Ceramics
  • MLCC components, ceramic capacitors
  • Membrane keypads
  • Scales
  • Chip production
  • RFID - Radio communications and networks
  • LCD - liquid crystal display screens
  • PDB - plasma display screens
  • OLED - organic light emitting diodes
  • FED - flat screen technology
  • Electronic paper, e-paper
  • TP - touch panels
  • Solder paste for SMD

W.S. Tyler Metal Mesh for the Solar Industry

For the Konversion of electromagnetic solar radiation into electric current, solar cells are metallised using a high-precision screen printing process. Due to list high Field strength, HAVER metal mesh for screen printing makes high wire tension possible and thus a very low off-contact of the screen. It additionally has a high register accuracy.

Example applications:

  • Printing of wafers
  • Front side metallisation
  • Back side metallisation
  • OLED & LCD
  • FPC
  • Glass printing

WSTyler Metal Mesh for Glass, Ceramics, Porcelain

For HMG, Haver & Boecker weaves very thin wires with narrow diameter tolerances, high yield strength and an optimized surface finish. The high screen tension with minimal off-contact distance results in excellent register accuracy. By calendaring in varying stages, the cloth thickness can be defined and adapted to the printing process. This can also influence ink consumption. In addition, optimum ink flow can be achieved, ensuring a uniform color gradient with an exactly definable ink deposit thickness.

The media can be easily removed from the stencil, cleaning is easy. In contrast to polyester cloths, HAVER metal mesh is dimensionally stable and can be heated electrically. Its long service life enables numerous printing cycles and long tool life.

Example applications:

  • Perfume bottles
  • Bottles & Jar
  • Porcelain / ceramics
